Observation

Licensor observed a toddler aged child to have an identified food allergy on the classroom health alert. Licensor reviewed individual plan of care on file for the child and noted that the child's specific treatment plan was signed by the parent/guardian, but not the child's health care provider. Licensor also noted that the treatment plan indicated by the parent/guardian as to when to administer benedryl and/or epi-pen but noted that the center does not have either medication available for the child on-site. The facility did not arrange with parents/guardians the necessary medication, training, and equipment to manage the child's food allergy if exposed.
